Things to Remember While Designing a Photography Website
Whether they have ever owned a camera or not is not important; as good as everyone enjoy good photographs. They are a great way to pinpoint a moment in time, even if the image is not as clear as it should be due to age and weather. Anybody can look at them and learn something new, or remember a moment from their past. Naturally, photographs are a part of the ever-growing internet culture, and some individuals seek to share their photography with others. But how should a photography site be put together? Are there any special rules or standards? There are tips to keep in mind when creating a photography site.

1.Portfolios
If the site is meant to be a portfolio, also known as a site where a photographer can showcase what they can do to prospective clients, it should be put together well. The photographer should go through their collection and decide what pictures represent them best. They should, however, remember that the subjects of the photographs should be different in order to show range and remain entertaining. For example, a photography site featuring only images of flowers or sunsets will get rather boring, and it will not show the true capability of the person.
2. Keeping up with the changing web.
Although technology is always changing, especially when it comes to the internet, not everyone is able to keep up. With this in mind, a website designer should realize that some people will not have the best speed for internet browsing at their fingertips; if the photography website features rows and rows of large images, it could take forever for all of them to load on an older computer or browser. Therefore, the amount of images per page should be limited, and small preview images, also known as thumbnails, should be implemented. This allows for quicker load time, and the visitor can click on the thumbnail to see the whole photo at their leisure.
3. Keeping things simple and sweet.
A website does not do a photographer any favors if visitors are unable to find the photography. Some people believe that their website layout should be as artsy and complicated as possible. They want to show off every single design code they have learned, without thinking about how hard and complicated this can make everything. The layout should be as simple as possible. One should not worry that a simple layout will lose them clients, as this will not be the potential client’s main focus.
Whether it remains in film form or transforms into a completely digital medium, photographs will always be treasured by those who look at them. Some people wish to make a living from it, and want to show off just what they can do. After trying to find the best website host, however, they are unsure about just what they should do. Making a site in an afternoon should not be attempted if they want a website that truly looks good. Doing the research and taking the time to make sure everything looks and loads right insures success.
